Sometimes We Need A Break

I was feeling restless in my heart and couldn’t figure out what was bothering me. Even though I had a lot of work to complete before the end of the week, I stopped for a while, listened to some music and also paying close attention to what my heart was trying to tell me.

After a few minutes, I had an inspiration and began writing down ideas that came to my mind. Within a few minutes, I had gathered enough ideas to work on for my next project.

manIn the evening, I took some time off to do something that I had not been doing for years which is drawing. I saw my son’s pastels lying around and thought, why not? It’s been years that I had done something pleasurable. So I took out my canvas, found a portrait as a reference to work on. I’m not very good at portraits but I just drew it anyway. An hour later I was pleasantly surprised at the outcome of my drawing and my son liked it so much that he wanted to show it to his friends.

Sometimes when the stress from work becomes unbearable, it is time for a break. We just have to take the time to relax, get some fresh air, take a slow walk and connect with ourselves. When I’m feeling the down or all stressed up, I like eating ice cream, painting or do some crazy stuff. It is a therapeutic to the soul. Find out what works for you and do take the time to reconnect with yourself because you deserve the much needed rest.
